Get some tips on applying gel
Gel not hardening – UV lamp bulbs may be old or dirty; clean with ibd Cleanser Plus daily. Replace bulbs after 3,000 hours of use, or every 9 – 12 months. If using another manufacturers lamp, you must double the cure time. Due to the opacity of the Ultra White Builder Gel, it takes longer for it to cure under the UV Lamp, therefore, cure for an additional 1 – 2 minutes. If working with forms and Ultra White Builder Gel, after you remove the forms, cure the underside of the free edge for 1 – 2 minutes.
Cracking – Sidewalls not reinforced. Gel not applied thickly enough, especially at the stress area. Reinforce the application following the instructions for clear builder gel over French Tips.
Cured nails feel sticky – Cleanse the entire nail with ibd
Cleanse Plus.
Cured nails look dull – Improper cleansing. Apply ibd Cleanser
Plus with a nail wipe. Dab gently until the tacky surface seems to dissolve, then
apply pressure and wipe down entire nail. The use of other cleansing products
or wipes may dull the nails.
Bubbles in finished nails – Overworked gel. Do not sculpt clear gel. Apply clear gel like a rich top
coat application.
Gel will not level – Gel is too cold. Allow gel
to stand at room temperature, or place jar in warm water until gel has proper
consistency.
Gel too runny – Gel is too warm. Allow gel
to stand and cool to room temperature.
Gel discolored or yellow – Sunbed, tanning products
or Tan Booster could be to blame. Keep nails away from tanning lotions, or wipe
off nails immediately after use.
Gel Polish peeling –
Ultra Seal or Clear Gel must be applied over Gel Polish.
Gel Polish color uneven
– Mix color in the jar thoroughly, pigment may have
settled to the bottom
of the jar.
Skin irritation – Cleanser Plus applied to the
cuticle area. When wiping nails with Cleanser Plus, avoid contact with the skin.
Do not apply gel on skin. Apply gel to nail plate only.
Ultra Seal surface pitting – Product applied
too thinly, apply an additional coat. Be sure to remove dust particles from the
nail surface with a dry ibd Nail Wipe. Be sure that the nails are properly prepped
prior to applying Ultra Seal. Do not apply cuticle oil or buff the nail surface
prior to applying Ultra Seal.
To clean brushes – Wipe excess product off gel brush
with a Nail Wipe moistened with Cleanser Plus at the end of each day. In between
services or whenever necessary, wipe gel brush clean with a dry Nail Wipe.
